Apples, Clowns, and Other Disturbing Sights

One holiday down and I have almost eaten all of the candy.

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE the holidays and the whole Fall/Winter season.  It is the time of year for snuggled up, down-home comfort food cooking.  Which leads to me sampling, testing, tasting, eating, and enjoying all sorts of yummy foods from the kitchen that it is just too hot to prepare in the summer.

Last Friday night, I was busy preparing for the Group Home Fall Picnic to be held on Saturday.

Sometimes I sabotage myself...

Sugar coma...

I won't lie.  They were s-i-n-f-u-l-l-y good.  And good for you, too, right? Apples, c'mon! Gotta get your fruit servings.

And if that wasn't bad enough, Saturday afternoon when I called my mother-in-law to find out if I needed to bring anything to the Weenie Roast, she said she had told Wes the day before that we could bring a dessert (umm. first I heard of it...) then I whipped these up...

Chocolate chip cookie brownies...oh Lordy, help me!  Someone please save me from myself.

And since it would not be a legitimate Post-Halloween Recap without the requisite costume showcase, here are some shots of my boys from years ago...

Alex 1992 (First "official" Halloween)

Chris and Wes (1995...also first official Halloween)

Alex 1997

Chris and Wes 1997

How quickly they grow up and become offended at the idea of Mom making them a costume and drawing/painting  stuff on them.  My boys...definitely treats in my heart.

  1. Lordy those brownies MMM WANT!

  2. You can send any sweets over here. Yanno. If you don't want em. Or something....
