When the cat (or fish) is away...

It's November 17?

Are you kidding me?

But, yesterday was May 12, I swear!

Tuesday is "my" day for knitting with the girls, errands, extraneous houseworky things, and whatever else needs to get done.  It started off okay.  Got caught up on my Service League responsibilities, paid some bills, putzed around in my jammies all morning.

Sounds fun.  EXCEPT for poor Miss Sophie.  She is sick.  Over the weekend I thought it was just hairballs...sorry, tmi.  But the poor thing has left pukies all over the house.  She left them on Chris' sheets and comforter, down the hallway, in my closet, on the counter, in the bathroom, on the couch, ON TOP of the kitchen cabinets...  And sadly, I am the only one in the house that is not obliviously lazy/squeamish and stubbornly avoiding while being sure to tell me about it seems to get to clean it up.  Kitty Girlfriend is gonna find herself on sabbatical in the garage if this does not stop soon.

Progress is being made on the craft/laundry room. (Sorry, it was late last night when I was snapping pics)

In case you were wondering what the funny smudgy things on the ceiling are...they are fish.  Yes, I have fish stamped in the plaster of every ceiling in my house.  Yes, there is a "Fish-a-holic" that lives here and better keep his "Knit-a-holic"  comments to himself.  No, it was not fun stamping the suckers up there.

Started the Poppy Sweater and so far, the colors are working for me.  Downside...33 1/2 inches of stockinette with random garter stitches and yarn changes.

Wes' socks that he so sweetly asked me to make have been ignored for the most part.  Did manage to measure his foot this morning, which means something I'm sure.

I am killing time at the shop while he has gone to Lake Monroe with his Dad for a day of fishing.  Shhhh...don't tell...I ordered Jimmy John's for Tom and I...

Have you visited Tami's yet?  No?  Well, what are you waiting for?

  1. WOW, stamped fish on the ceiling! Now that's a first! I LOVE the color of your walls! It's so bold and pops again the white cupboards!

I think that's the prettiest color pink yarn I've seen. I have never bought Cascade 220 (I went back to your first post about it and saw that's what it was), because it's very rough for me. My skin hates rough wool, but I may have to pick some of it up in that colorway just to look at it! LOL

  2. Love the aubergine walls! You are so lucky to be getting a craft space (even if you have to share it with the laundry). Totally digging the fishes, but maybe you can change it to balls of yarn and knitting needles? The sweater is looking good, I like that pink.

  3. I love the paint color you chose for your remodel! I know how it goes with the sick kitties, hope she feels better soon and that you don't have to keep cleaning up.
Also, I've always admired that Poppy sweater, and can't wait to see how yours turns out.

  4. Eeek I love the colour on the walls. And don't worry my soon to be craft room is also sadly the study and the gym. Definitely more of a craft room though if I get my way.

  6. I love your laundry/craft room. The sweater is looking good. I actually enjoy doing yards of stockinette stitch.

Lucky for me, D generally will clean up the cat yack around here. Unless I'm here by myself, then sometimes, I make a mental note to step over it until he gets home from work and he step in it, cuss, then clean it. Yeah, I'm bad like that.

  7. During this remodel I have chosen to just go for it and be bold with color choices. Forget all the"neutral" stuff not trying to please anyone but us. Two of the kids rooms are reallly bold. Madi has two walls that are kind of neon apple green and two painters tape electric blue walls. Chris has two black walls and two red walls. Sounds weird but it looks fab.

  8. If Miss Sophie continues to puke on a regular basis, try giving her 1/4 of a Pepcid tablet daily.

  9. Carol Thanks, I will try that. The puking has slowed down I was worried about a bowel obstruction but that by all evidence is not the problem
