Scattered Sunday

Morning came way too early and could only be made better by homemade waffles.

Here's a handy dandy quick recipe for squares of morning goodness:

1 1/2 cups Self Rising flour
1 tablespoon sugar
4 tablespoons melted butter
1 egg
1 1/2 cups milk

Mix all ingredients together and pour into heated waffle iron.  Makes 8 waffles.

I have a love/hate relationship with this cabinet.   I love that it is there, I love that it has doors, I love that I can leave them closed, but...

I clearly HATE putting the plastic storage stuff away neatly.  Don't know why, I neeeed organization in so many other areas, why does this one not require the same attention?   It only seems to get straightened in one of two instances...1) it is on that week's zone deep cleaning schedule, which only comes around every 14 weeks or 2) the cabinet door has been opened and everything toppled out one too many times prompting swearing and sitting on the floor.

Slowly, but surely.  Step by step, inch by inch...

The silhouettes above the ironing board are of my boys when Alex was 5 and Chris and Wes were 3.

The little girl silhouette is me when I was 5 and the handprint is Big Wes' when he was 1 1/2.  The green mirror came from my Granny and Papa Grammer's house and hung over a small bookcase on their sun porch.

Here is some slightly skewed logic for ya:   it snowed, the leaves have NOT all fallen from the trees, and I still make pumpkin bread and pies for Christmas, so can't I just leave this by the front door and call it a Christmas decoration?

  1. MMM, I LOVE homemade waffles. No waffle iron here. I put it on my wishlist every year, but everyone ignores my list.

    Love your new room.

I left a tree up for 8 months, a pumpkin sounds like a good Christmas ornament to me.
