Father's Day came and went. I have a most wonderful father and am so grateful for all he has shown me, taught me, and blessed me with. We have not always seen eye to eye, but the love is and has always been there. He is someone that I deeply respect and truly enjoy spending time with.
My husband is a man that I also respect and enjoy spending time with. I love him with all of my heart and soul. He is a wonderful man that tries so hard to always do the right thing. His love for me and my children is unfaltering. It takes a special man to do that. I hope he had a good Father's Day. My children have acknowledged him. It would have been nice for others to have done the same, but it seems that is not meant to be at this time, sadly, he is at peace with this, but it is painful to watch.
I love you Wes for being the father you are and the man that completes me. Mo Anam Cara for always.

We made it...
After a very very very long day of driving, stopping for three hours
for an extremely wonderfully helpful marine repair man to band aid fix
the axle hub on the boat trailer, driving a long long time again,
stopping for dinner, driving some more...we finally made it to the
house on Mullet Lake. It was worth the trip adventure. The house is
sooo sooo cool. The water is crystal clear. The kids are all finally
asleep. I am finishing a small glass of chocolate wine then poke me
with a fork I'm done. More adventure reports later today.

Road trips
Long but wonderful day. Ran around town, had a good lunch, did some
sightseeing and a touch of shopping. One of the highlights :)) of the
day when I sorta got to gloat. Tuesday the knitting crew was teasing
me about a new app I got for my phone that catalogs all my knitting
patterns, books, needles, etc. Turns out I got to have the last laugh
when I was able to send pictures of an upcoming project. I was away
from my book at the time but since I had a picture of it filed in the
app I was able to forward it to them while waiting for the rain to
stop while we were in town. Gotta love a phone with apps that pay off.

While at the Visitors Center we took some time to stand in awe in
front of the Chihuly glass pieces. They are spectacular. It came a
sudden powerful storm that we had to wait out.

After lunch we went to Irwin Gardens and wandered around for awhile
then headed over to the library and the Visitors Center. The Gardens
are simply beautiful.

Tuesday
It's Tuesday...gotta love it. Couldn't sleep last night. A lot
weighing on my mind. Wound up staying awake until about 3am but got my
desk cleared off. No thanks to Norman and Amos who thought they were
being helpful. Quite a bit going on today. Got up at 7, went for a
short and easy 3 mile run. Came back and threw some laundry in and did
a quick dust and vacuum of the house. Chris and I are going out to
lunch together then he is going over to a friend's house while I go
knit.
My knitting day plan is to reorganize my pattern book and input
information into the handy dandy iPhone app for knitters I downloaded.
A few errands followed by taxi driving Chris then the day will end
with a class dealing with volunteerism issues. Just another day in my
slice of paradise.

Ready for the end of the week
This has been one mixed up, nutso, crazy week. I am sooo ready for it to be over.
Trying to mentally prep for our vacation to Michigan/Canada, but keep getting sidetracked.
Last night I ripped out about 3 inches of a baby kimono because I don't have enough yarn to make it in garter stitch, I don't care for garter stitch, and thought it was sort yucky looking. Impressed myself by re-writing the pattern and so far my version is much better. Looking forward to a fun morning at the Hoosier Hills Fiberarts Festival this weekend with my knitting peeps. Saturday cannot get here soon enough.
Tomorrow is going to be stressful, but triumphant as semi-closure comes to a major problem. Circumstances keep changing in ways that are going to make it easy peasy to succeed.

Went to the Hoosier Hills Fiberarts Festival with a couple of friends today. Was a lot of fun, but slightly fiber overload! Picked up a handy dandy yarn requirements reference guide and a hunk of the prettiest blue roving wool. Tried spinning with a drop spindle...mayyybbeee I will look into doing some spinning of my own. There were angoa rabbits and sheep there. Toyed around with getting a nostepinne, but had a hard time justifying the purchase since I already know how to center pull wind my own yarn.
The Apple tree in the front yard is absolutely, positively dripping and drooping with apples. Of course, thanks to hungry deer, it is not likely that I will be able to have any for us once they are fully ripe.
My garden for this year...yes, the quest was to find out exactly how much I can cram into a tiny space. I have bush green beans, sugar snap peas, zucchini, yellow squash, roma tomatoes, slicing tomatoes, strawberries, basil, and flat leaf parsley.
Next year, this will be dedicated solely to only one thing...don't know what yet...as by then, my lovely cedar raised beds will be in place on the other side of the house. Plan on putting in at least 5, 4x8 beds.
hey look!, it's a happy house
