Playing Catch Up

I would like to know when the "break" part of Christmas Break is going to happen.  But,  at any rate it sure has been fun.

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and a safe New Year's Eve.  We stayed at home, after the mandatory Friday Night Family Dinner Out, played cards, watched TV and generally goofed off.  At midnight, bottles of sparkling cider were opened and the guys all made very loud noises with long wooden and metal things that they pulled levers on and something poofed out the round opening on the end with great force.

Saturday, once everyone was awake, we trekked off to Cincinnati for an adventure.  First stop, Ikea.  Fun for the grownups (Alex could seriously go nuts in there if he had the funds and his own place to put everything!  I knew the whole style of Ikea is right up his alley.)  Then, lunch at a favorite pasta place...mmmmmm, mizythra and brown butter pasta.  Next stop...the zoo.

We have some interesting memories of turtles in March at the Indianapolis Zoo.  Fortunately, this time it was not Spring.

Oooh lookie...an extra kiddo!

Shown below is the rare Bobcaticus Machinicus attempting to hibernate.  I would love to bring this cat home and put it to work.

CRIKEY, ME HEAD!!!!! I'll save you brother, maybe, or help the beast close his mouth!

I wonder if this beauty would get along with the babies at home?

A rare, pseudo-normal picture...

 That's more like it...

Purty...

 Endangered species...

They even have their own private preserve...

It was fun, but COLD!!!
