Sweets for the sweet

This past week, two of the kids in a group home that I work with have had birthdays.  Whenever the kids have a birthday, I make a special treat and also take a few other odds and ends.  I love getting the opportunity to bake and truly enjoy this project.  Sometimes, the kids have never before received any sort of homemade treat for their birthday, so having the chance to make a special treat for special kids touches my heart.

I have been in a bit of a cupcake mood and have stumbled across my new favorite baking blog.

Be prepared to get your toothbrush and toothpaste out and use them after finishing reading this post or after visiting my inspiration.

Birthday #1:  Snickers Cupcakes.  A tasty chocolate cupcake with a mini Snickers hidden in the middle and frosted with a caramel buttercream.

Birthday #2:  Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cupcake.  Similar cake recipe as above, but cookie dough is hidden in the middle.  It bakes up somewhat dense and reminds me of chocolate chip cookie brownies.  I used my all time favorite Sinful Frosting as an alternative.

For some unknown reason, cupcakes are all the rage.  What's not to love about a single serving size bit of yumminess?  Come on, go make them, you know you want to and absolutely ANYONE can do it!

***My Baking Addiction has no clue who I am, but MAN, she had me at baking and addiction!

  3. I am overwhelmed and fervently trying not to bookmark the baking blog. Bad cupcakes, bad cupcakes, I do not need the cupcakes. (Sigh, it is not working. I WANT the cupcakes.)
