*^$#&%@ Lace

Welcome to the world of "hate doing lace, but keep doing it anyway."

What is that old saying, what doesn't kill you, will only make you stronger?  If this is the case, then I am on my way to becoming Popeye.

So, in an effort to keep de-stashing, I have pulled out some lovely pink yarn that has had several different potential patterns.  Cascade Alpaca Lace (colorway 1403) has been sitting in my craft room for over a year, it has thought it wanted to be socks, then a scarf, then it got confused and went into hiding.  A ball of Crystal Palace Kid Merino (colorway 9801) was purchased late last Fall, thinking it would be held with the Lace to add a loftiness to whatever the yarn said it wanted to be.  Quite frankly, both yarns developed an attitude problem and had to be put in time out.

Last week, it told me it would like to become "Vicuna Scarf" from Luxury One Skein Wonders.  It was wrong.  Rip. Now it has decided that it will become "Falling Leaves Mohair-Silk Scarf" from the same book. Five rows in, oops, rip.  Rinse, repeat, rip again!  I will do this!

On the other end of the scarf spectrum, my final installment of the Colts Super Scarves is plugging along...perhaps my lack of enthusiasm stems from the fact that I.do.not.like.football.  There, I said it!

That's it for WIP's around here.  (just between you and me, knitting has taken a back seat to playing with Minerva)

  1. You normally don't get that kind of attitude from pink yarn. Blue or purple, sure.

  2. I have a friend who puts her yarn in "time out" when it doesn't behave!! I'm sure you'll get it whipped into shape soon!! ;-D

  3. Good on you for trying to de-stash. Love that blue and white striped scarf! I don't like football either, though it's something else where I come from!

  4. I'm not into football either, but go with hubby to all the Ohio State Games. I do like tailgating though it sure makes for a long day. Sorry bout the frogging, hate doing that myself. When yarn gets an attitude...it can be very frustrating.

  5. I have many yarns in time out, too. LOL, I decide to make something and they just don't see happy with the pattern. OH MY GOSH, Minerva is beautiful btw!

  6. I like the pink yarn - it probably has a temporary hissy fit, I hope it finds its true destination soon!

  7. Ouch, good luck finding a match for your pink yarn. I hate it when yarn goes wishywashy with what it wants to be!

  8. I LOVE that pink yarn ! But I don't blame you for playing with Minerva instead since it's misbehaving so badly .. :-)
