Minerva's putting out...

the most lovely fibers.  (Get your mind out of the gutter!!!)

Over the weekend, I spent a great deal of time spinning and finishing off some fiber that I purchased at the Hoosier Hills Fiber Festsival.  The bulk of it was spun on Minerva, then I "off-loaded" what was on my drop spindle onto the bobbin.

It is some purty, sparkly yarn.  The picture does not do it justice, you cannot see the silver metallic thread running through it or appreciate the subtle variations between the blues, purples, and greens.  Now, what to make with a little over 200 yards of DK/Light Worsted 2-ply?

That is about all I have managed to get finished in the fiber world this week.  More time has been spent fiddling with de-stash projects, straightening up  the confusing mess in the craft room, avoiding the final details of putting one of the kids' rooms back together after repainting, and for the last few days struggling with the attack of a summer cold.  NOT FUN!  I don't have time for this.

Maybe Amos has the right idea and I should just pack up and go away for a little recup time...

  1. The advanced search on Ravelry is going to come in handy to find a project for your beautiful handspun:

Maybe a Noble Cowl or Night Music Scarf?

  2. Your yarn looks fantastic! (ooh, sparkles!)

The only problem I foresee is that soon you will want to knit only with handspun and any pre-existing stash will get pushed to the back of the line :-)

  3. Ugh, summer colds. The worst. I hope you're feeling better soon.

But in the meantime, your yarn is still amaaaazing, I love those colours and the fact that it's sparkly! I bought my mom some sparkly fiber for Christmas to add to her spinning, but she hasn't used it yet...

  4. Summer colds are the worst. :( Hope you feel better soon.

Love your yarn! It's so pretty! <3

  5. Love love love your yarn! It's fabulous! :)
