39 and 84 months

Saturday was my birthday.  Can you guess my age?  It was truly a wonderful day.  Lots of wishes from friends and family.  My darling suggested a trip into town this morning to check out the Farmer's Market.  What a great way to start the day!

Several months ago, Wes spotted and was able to get a pair of vintage (early 1970's) Schwinn bicycles that were in darn near perfect condition.   They are so much fun and the original streamers on the handlebars sure do help you go faster and ramp up the cool factor!  We loaded them into the truck and headed off to a parking lot at the edge of town, unloaded them, hopped onto the People Trail and headed in to town.

Once at the Farmer's Market, we parked and set off to do some browsing and people watching.

The heat was stifling, making a Lemonade Shake Up all the more refreshing.
After a quick trip by the Bicycle Station for some parts, we took off for Zaharako's where "Son 4.0" treated me to a birthday chocolate soda.  Sorry, there wasn't much left to show...chocolate sodas and chocolate malts two of my all time equally tied favorites.
The rest of the day and evening was just as pleasant.  I am one lucky and blessed girl!

  1. Those are two of the coolest bikes. I cannot believe how new they look. Glad you had a nice celebration for your birthday.

  2. Dina, those bikes are awesome! And you are not going to believe this, but that one pawn shop show on the History channel last night showed the same color and style of bike, but it was a Tandem! The seller wanted too much for it, so he didn't sell it to the pawn shop, but it was JUST LIKE YOUR NEW BIKES! WILD!

Glad you had a great day, I didn't make it to the market yesterday.

    1. We saw that episode and started wishing we could figure out how to get in touch with the guy. Would totally buy it from him. The Bicycle Station has a single speed ladies bike that is similar to ours, but might be a little bit newer and they are asking $500 for it!!!! The gal that works there was shocked at what he got ours for and told us it was a STEAL. Need to do some research on the serial numbers of ours to get a little more info.

    2. I believe the show would have to get a signed release from anyone they put on their show....might start by trying to get in touch with them to track the guy down. At least that's where I would start.

Seems the guy with the tandem bike was asking around the right price for it too, the pawn folks just low-balled their offer so they could make a killer profit. Interesting though! Glad you saw that episode! :)
